Fishable

Terms of Use

Please read these terms. They include an important limit: Fishable helps you check the rules, but you are always responsible for fishing legally.

Effective October 25, 2026. Fishable ("the app") is provided by 10ten Studio Inc., British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). Contact: milan@vrekic.com.

1. What Fishable is, and isn't

Fishable compares a spot on the map, a time and your angler details against the published freshwater fishing regulations and public land and water data, and gives an answer. It is a guide built from public government data. It is not legal advice, not a licence or permit, and not an official government service. "Open here" means every rule the app checks allows fishing there at that time. It doesn't mean fishing there is legal in every respect.

The app doesn't check everything. Among other things it doesn't know about: tidal waters and salmon (Fisheries and Oceans Canada sets those rules), posted signs, the gear and bait you actually use, in-season changes that aren't in its data yet, private land, fishways, hatcheries or closures that aren't in its data, First Nations rights and agreements, and errors in government data. "Fish here" and "Good time to fish" are estimates from records and forecasts; they don't promise fish. GPS positions can be off by tens of metres or more.

2. You are responsible

You must know and follow the British Columbia Sport Fishing Regulations, 1996, the BC Wildlife Act and its regulations, the current Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis and its in-season changes, and any other rules that apply where you fish. Buy the licence and stamps you need, check the official sources, get permission to cross or fish from private land, and use your own judgment on the water. Never rely on the app alone.

3. Data and sources

The app uses public information from the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada, licensed under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia and the Open Government Licence – Canada, and other sources listed on Data sources. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government. Data can be incomplete, out of date or wrong; the app shows the age of its data and stops answering "Open" when the data is more than 30 days old.

4. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. Don't copy, resell, reverse engineer (except where the law allows it), scrape or redistribute the app or its compiled data, or use it to break the law.

5. Fishable Pro subscriptions

6. Availability

We try to keep the app and its data accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted or current. Saved-water alerts and forecasts depend on data and services that can be late or down. We may change, suspend or discontinue features.

7. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and its data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for fines, penalties, seizures, licence suspensions, trespass claims, injury or loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Fishable Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

9. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for claims and costs arising from your breach of these terms or of the law while using the app.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using the app anytime by uninstalling it (and cancelling Pro in Google Play). We may end your licence if you seriously breach these terms. Sections 1–3 and 7–12 survive.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions: milan@vrekic.com.

Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.
