What we don't do

Legal basis and your rights

We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. Depending on where you live you may also have rights under other laws (for example the GDPR or California law). You can ask us to:

Email milan@vrekic.com. We answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Retention

Information on your phone stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Purchase records are kept while your subscription is active and afterwards as long as needed for tax, accounting and refund purposes (generally up to 7 years), unless you ask us to delete what we're not required to keep. We don't keep forecast requests; Open-Meteo's own policy covers its server logs.

Where information is processed

RevenueCat, Google, Netlify, Cloudflare, Esri and Open-Meteo may process information outside Canada, including in the United States and Europe, where privacy laws may differ from Canada's. We choose providers that commit to protecting it.

Children

Fishable is intended for anglers aged 18 and over, and for younger anglers using it with a parent or guardian. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The app keeps your checks on your device and holds no passwords or accounts that could be breached.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll say so in the app before they take effect.
