Put the crosshair on a lake, river or stream anywhere in BC. Fishable checks the water, the fishing regulations, in-season changes, parks and private land on the bank, and gives you one answer. It works with no signal.
Coming to Google Play first, iPhone after. The legal check is free on every lake, river and stream in BC.
Every check ends in one of these. Each has its own colour and its own pattern, so you can tell them apart in glare, with colour blindness, or on the red night screen.

Save your region once and every check works offline: the rules, the waters, parcels, parks and the clock all live on your phone.
Out before sunrise? Switch to Night. Everything turns dim red on black so your eyes stay adjusted to the dark. On Auto it switches by itself when the sun is down.
Move the map and whatever is under the crosshair is checked when you let go. The buttons are big and sit where your thumb is.
Your age, your residency and the date and time you pick change the answer. Each check shows its source and the synopsis page it comes from.

Private parcels, parks and the waters the app knows are drawn on the map. The answer comes with what to do next: ask the owner, wait for the opening time, or move to a stretch that comes back Open.
A Before you fish checklist covers what no map can know: posted signs, the gear and bait you use, and changes that aren't in the data yet.

Type a lake, river, creek or town from BC's official place names, or paste coordinates straight from a GPS unit, a map link or a text from a friend. Fishable reads decimal degrees, Garmin-style minutes, degrees-minutes-seconds and UTM.
It shows how it read the numbers before it checks, and copies the answer's coordinates back out in the format you use.

Fish here lists the species recorded and stocked in the water, from Known BC Fish Observations and Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC stocking records, with what you can keep of each.
Good time to fish rates the best hours of the next three days from the weather forecast, the light and the estimated water temperature. It's a rating, not a promise of fish.
Saved waters alerts you when the rules change for a water you saved.
The legal check stays free. Subscriptions are billed through Google Play and renew until you cancel.

No. It means every rule the app can check allows it. You're still responsible for knowing the regulations, for permission on private land, and for the signs you see at the water.
The 2025–2027 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis and its in-season changes, the BC Freshwater Atlas, ParcelMap BC, and BC and federal parks. The app tells you how old your copy is. See Data sources.
No. Fisheries and Oceans Canada sets those rules. Fishable covers non-tidal fresh water, and says Tidal water when you're below the tidal boundary.
Set your age (under 16, 16 to 64, or 65 and over) and residency (BC resident, other Canadian, or non-resident). The answer lists the licences and stamps you need on that water.
Fishable reads the province's in-season changes twice a day. Plain closures apply the same day; anything else shows Can't confirm until it's reviewed. If the data gets more than 30 days old, the app stops answering Open until you update.
No. Every legal check runs on your phone. With signal, map tiles load from our map server (topo) or Esri (satellite). Good time to fish, a Pro feature, sends the spot's rounded coordinates to Open-Meteo for the forecast.

Check the spot from home, and again at the water. Get Fishable early on Android.
