How to confirm it's a dolly varden

  1. Small pale or pink-red spots, no black spots
  2. No black on the dorsal fin
  3. Smaller head than a bull trout; mostly coastal waters

Could it be something else?

Bull trout
Bull trout look almost the same; only head size and range help, and not reliably. Treat it as a bull trout if unsure.
